Zingara: A European Escape in Scottsdale

Restaurateur Hera Ambrosio brings a taste of her travels to Scottsdale with Zingara. This contemporary space, designed by Ambrosio herself, evokes the elegance of southern Europe and the Mediterranean with its bright and airy atmosphere.

Market and Cafe:

Zingara offers a curated market featuring imported goods like Setaro pasta, Terra Farms meats, olive oils, cheeses, luxury items, and kitchenware. The cafe, equipped with a La Marzocco espresso machine, serves house-made pastries and coffee in the mornings. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., a grab-and-go market offers Euro-inspired salads and sandwiches, such as the French Nicoise and Mozzarella and Prosciutto on fresh bread.

Evening Transformation:

At 4 p.m. daily, Zingara transforms into an upscale wine bar. Guests can choose from Italian and French wines, German and Italian beers, or a selection of unique liqueurs from various countries.

Visually Striking Plates:

The food menu, designed by Ambrosio and Chef Jordan Adams, offers small, shareable plates that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. Highlights include:

  • Polpette: A family recipe featuring meatballs made with Terra Farms wagyu beef, Iberico pork, and 'nduja tomato sugo.

  • Hamachi Crudo: Created by Chef Jason Adams, this dish features thinly sliced raw yellowtail with a combination of fruity and smoky notes from Calabrian chili, complemented by sweet and tangy yuzu and soy aioli, and finished with shaved fennel.

  • Roasted Beets: A vegetarian option featuring roasted beets with lemon, mint, and candied walnuts, drizzled with dollops of labneh (strained yogurt).

  • Smoked Buffalo Mozzarella: A unique cheese selection, Ambrosio's personal favorite and a rarity in the area.

  • Polpo: This dish is considered the star of the menu. Grilled Spanish octopus is served on black forbidden rice with a vibrant romesco sauce, fingerling potatoes, and a touch of saffron aioli.

A Multifaceted Destination:

Zingara caters to a variety of needs. It's a bespoke marketplace for discerning foodies, a wine bar for enthusiasts, a haven for home chefs seeking unique ingredients, a place for gatherings, a remote work option, and a delightful cafe offering a taste of southern Europe.
