Old Havana in Old Town Scottsdale
The Scott Resort, located in Old Town Scottsdale, brings Old Havana, Cuba to its guests with Cuban themed fare and cocktails. According to Foothills Magazine, “The inspiration for the hotel’s overall design, by Avroko was based on four design elements including the colors and comforts of 1930s Havana; the elegant geometry of the Bauhaus; Mission Revival architecture; and the airy, minimalist beauty of the Arizona desert.”
Feel like Ernest Hemingway as you stroll through 8 acres of this Mission style boutique hotel’s lush palms, cozy fire pits, hammocks, and unwind in your guest room decorated with mid century walnut furniture, brass details, rattan light fixtures, and hand painted portraits on the walls.
The on-site La Vidorra Spa has six private, sunwashed treatment rooms. Services offered range from the La Vidorra Experience to the Havana Herbal Salt Stone massage. Beauty boosts such as eyebrow waxing and tints and facials, are also on offer. The spa also has a gift shop with body care, candles, and jewelry.
The hotel is a lush oasis of cuban style inspired spaces, with 204 guest rooms and suites.
There are two pools. A deep diving pool for adults with cabana and poolside bar, as well as a family friendly sand-bottom pool with sandy beach.
The signature restaurant, the @thecanalclubaz Club, offers Cuban fare inspired by the flavors of the southwest. Guests can enjoy delicious Cuban cocktails such as the ‘Helen and Maude’, with Puerto Rican rum, coconut, lime, mint and soda, at the Canal Club bar, and play a game of backgammon.
Books documenting the colorful history of Cuba can be found throughout the open air lobby, featuring a living tree as well as lush flora, rattan and wicker furniture paired with wood accents, sandstone fireplaces and water features.
